Dr. Ravikumar is a faculty in the Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin and holds a non-resident fellow appointment at the Payne Institute for Public Policy at the Colorado School of Mines. Over the past decade, Dr. Ravikumar has led several projects focused on methane measurements across oil and gas supply chain, evaluating new technologies in the field, and developing techno-economic models to evaluate methane emissions policy. He co-led the developed of the Fugitive Emissions Abatement Simulation Tool (FEAST) that has helped regulatory agencies and oil and gas operators makes informed choices on deploying new technologies. His current work focuses on deploying multi-scale measurement systems for real-time estimation of methane emissions across oil and gas supply chains. He is a member of the US Department of Transportation’s gas pipeline advisory committee.
