Patti Melcher

Co-Founder and Managing Partner of EIV Capital

Patti Melcher is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of EIV Capital, LLC, a private equity firm that provides growth capital across the energy value chain with ~$2 billion AUM.  Ms. Melcher has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry. She began her career as an investment banker with Simmons & Company in 1986 and then joined SCF Partners, an oilfield service focused private equity fund, upon its formation in 1989.  In 1997, she formed Allegro Capital Management to provide investment management and consulting services in the energy industry and in that same year co-founded The Joy School, a non-profit school to serve children with learning differences, where she served as president and board chair until 2005.  

In 2009, she co-founded EIV Capital to provide equity growth capital to entrepreneurs in the energy industry, and over the past decade has funded traditional midstream infrastructure projects as well as investments in renewable fuels and emissions reduction focused companies. Ms. Melcher is responsible for managing the firm and its investment program and serves on the boards of EIV Capital portfolio companies.  Ms. Melcher continues to be active in the non-profit community in Houston and currently serves as a Pro Tempore Advisor of the University of Virginia School of Engineering.  She received an MBA from Harvard University and a BS in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
